Internationally renowned waste management expert, Emeritus Professor Dr. Syed Hasan, authored award-winning textbooks: 'Introduction to Waste Management A Textbook' (John Wiley, 2022) and 'Geology and Hazardous Waste Management' (Prentice Hall, 1996). A two-time recipient of the US Department of State Senior Fulbright Award, Prof. Hasan has also received awards like the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Purdue University and the Educator’s Environmental Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. With a 35-year teaching career, he developed and taught four waste management courses, supervised 16 graduate students, published around 50 papers, and presented research globally. Prof. Hasan is a Senior Fellow of the Geological Society of America and a member of prestigious organizations, residing in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
